Awards and Scholarships
The IDSA Education and Research Foundation (ERF) and the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases (NFID) have joined forces to offer the IDSA ERF/NFID Joint Research Awards.

Society Awards have been bestowed upon pioneers in the study of HIV/AIDS, inspiring and supportive teachers, those who paved the way for life-saving vaccines, those committed to serving the needs of communities most susceptible to but least equipped to deal with infectious diseases, and many others who have made a great impact on the field of infectious diseases.

Medical Scholars Program - Formerly Summer Scholarships for Medical Students
An important part of IDSA’s mission is to promote the subspecialty of infectious diseases by attracting the best and brightest medical students to the field. To further this goal, the IDSA ERF offers summer scholarships to medical students in U.S. medical schools with mentorship by an IDSA member or fellow.
