To develop and make recommendations on the development of any new educational meeting, program, or services for members; to establish an ongoing process to get feedback from the membership on their educational needs; to oversee the Society’s efforts to
maintain ACCME accreditation; to monitor developments with respect to post-graduate education in infectious diseases; to monitor developments with respect to certification and recertification in infectious diseases; and to make recommendations for activities/issues
under its purview that involve federal legislation or regulation.
To establish and maintain communication with all infectious diseases academic units with accredited training programs in infectious diseases; and to assist training directors, in a manner that is mutually beneficial, with any or all facets of the training
program curriculum, such as recruitment to the field of infectious diseases, logistics of candidate selection, curriculum requirements and interaction with organizations responsible for curriculum accreditation requirements and board certification.
The CME Sub-Committee works to oversee issues related to the accreditation of all IDSA CME activities, along with IDSA’s reaccreditation process as well as review all IDSA’s CME activities to ensure compliance with ACCME regulations and criteria, to include
the development of improved assessment modalities to comply with new outcomes-oriented requirements.
The IDSA Fellows Subcommittee will serve as an advisory group responsible for providing input from a young ID professionals’ perspective to inform IDSA initiatives.
