  • Member-in-Training

Individuals are eligible to join IDSA as members-in-training as soon as they enter a postdoctoral program in infectious diseases, clinical microbiology, or a related field. Members-in-training do not have voting privileges. However, like all IDSA members, members-in-training may attend the Annual Meeting as well as other IDSA conferences and activities at member-in-training rates, and subscriptions to the Society’s journals are included in their dues.

    Criteria for Eligibility

    • Identification with infectious diseases
    • Documented participation in an accredited postgraduate training program in infectious diseases
    • Nomination by the program director of the accredited ID fellowship program (and an IDSA member or fellow, if the program director is not a member of the Society)

    To Apply

    • Complete the New Member Application (online or PDF)
    • Have the application signed by your training program director. If he or she is not a member of IDSA, then you must also have your application signed by an IDSA member or fellow.
    • Include a dues payment with your application
