The research division of North Texas Infectious Diseases, PA, has a very active clinical research program. Fellows will spend half-day per week during the 24 months of fellowship on research that is expected to result in publication in a peer-reviewed journal and presentation at regional, state, or national professional societies.

The primary institution has a high volume of ID consultations.

The primary institution has a very active transplantation service, having provided over 3200 none marrow transplants and 8700 solid organ transplants.

BUMC has a very active hematology-oncology service, providing extensive experience in the treatment of the chemotherapy- immunosuppressed patient.

BUMC is a level 1 trauma center, providing fellows with exposure to management of complex traumatic and post operative infections, including orthopedic, neurosurgical, cardio-thoracic, and abdominal infections.
