    Privacy Policy

IDSA is committed to your data privacy. This Privacy Policy governs IDSA’s data collection practices, across the following IDSA domains: http://www.idsociety.org, http://www.hivma.org, and http://www.idsaglobalhealth.org. This policy also covers the usage of information collected offline by IDSA staff. We may change the content or services found on the website at any time without notice, and consequently our Privacy Policy may change at any time in the future. Any significant changes to the privacy policy will be published on the website and communicated to the IDSA membership. By accessing this site, you agree to the terms set forth in this Privacy Policy.

    Public Areas

The public areas of the website constitute any pages that do not require a user login. You are not required to provide IDSA with any personal information and we do not monitor or collect any personally identifiable information from your use of the public portions of the website. We do collect anonymous information such as your IP address, operating system, browser information, and site activity (pages viewed, time spent on a page). This aggregate information is used to track usage of the websites and improve the quality and accessibility of content we provide. If you call, email, or use our online contact form to report website issues, we may ask for your specific browser information for systems administration and troubleshooting purposes.

    Members Only Section

IDSA sends one or more cookies—a small file containing a string of characters that uniquely identifies your browser—to your computer when you visit the IDSA site and when you log on to the members only section. We use cookies to improve the quality of our website. Most browsers are initially set up to accept cookies, but you may change your browser settings to refuse all cookies or indicate when a cookie is being sent. To protect your privacy, be sure to log out of the IDSA site after a session and close your browser completely.

    Use of Personal Information

Applicants to IDSA are asked to provide personal and professional information. We use this information in order to:

    1. Meet our mission to communicate information to our members,
    2. Provide notice of important events, activities, and proposals,
    3. Provide opportunities for network and professional events,
    4. Provide a professional directory (member access only),
    5. Compile and provide mailing, approval, and attendance lists for meetings, and
    6. Provide a list of members of committees and the Board of Directors.

IDSA may rent its mailing list to third parties, who use the list to inform our members of educational opportunities and services that may be of interest to them. The information provided includes your name, society-assigned member number, organization, department, and mailing address. IDSA does not rent its e-mail list or provide phone numbers of members. IDSA reviews each list rental request on a case-by-case basis to ensure that the information being sent is relevant to our members.

Members may opt-out of having their information used for any of the above purposes by notifying IDSA.  See below for contact information.

IDSA does not disclose credit card account information.

    Your Queries

If you have any questions regarding the IDSA Privacy Policy, would like to change information that you have provided, or suspect that IDSA has handled your data in a manner that does not comply with this Privacy Policy, please contact IDSA at membership@idsociety.org.
