Additional Training/Faculty Resources (optional):

 The training program is assisted by Elliott Carter, M.D., Director of Clinical Microbiology plus the clinical faculty. The faculty of the Microbiology/Immunology Department conduct NIH-funded research in the areas of Salmonella, Herpes simplex and Rickettsiology.

The program faculty and trainees staff Ryan White lllb funded clinics for HIV-1 care, participate in a weekly citywide ID conference, and provide comprehensive Healthcare epidemiology services to the South Alabama hospitals and clinics. The Gulf Coast ID Society is based in the Division, with a meeting each Spring.
