IDSA/Others Say FDA Must Have Access to Knowledgeable Subject Matter Experts (PDF)
IDSA joined over 75 provider and patient advocacy organizations in urging Senate leaders to eliminate over-the-top conflict of interest requirements that apply only to Food and Drug Administration advisory committees. These requirements tie FDA's hands preventing the agency from hearing opinions from the most knowledgeable experts prior to approving new drugs, vaccines, diagnostics, etc.

IDSA Responds to OSHA Request for Information on Occupational Exposure to Infectious Agents (PDF)
IDSA cautions OSHA to first consider basic personnel and infection prevention and control policies before moving toward the creation of a regulatory standard focused solely on exposure. IDSA is concerned with patient and healthcare worker safety and implores OSHA to involve expert stakeholder groups, such as IDSA, in every phase of this potential rulemaking to ensure a transparent process and an evidence-based outcome.

IDSA Supports Reinstatement of the 20/220 Medical Student Loan Deferment Pathway (PDF)
IDSA joins other medical specialty societies in urging the Department of Education to permanently reinstate the 20/220 medical student loan deferment pathway or to provide an equivalent funding mechanism for loan deferments.

IDSA Urges ACGME to Allow ID Fellows to Train in Developing Countries (PDF)
In a letter to ACGME, IDSA asked that the Council allow ID fellows to receive credit for three to 12 months of training in developing countries during their fellowships.
