LEAP Fellowship
The Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA), the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America (SHEA), and the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society (PIDS), have joined together to create the Leaders in Epidemiology, Antimicrobial stewardship, and Public health (LEAP) Fellowship.

American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene Funding and Fellowships  
Funding and fellowships for tropical infectious diseases, including international and travel fellowships.

  • Burroughs Wellcome Fund/ ASTMH Postdoctoral Fellowship in Tropical Infectious Diseases (Deadline September 15)
  • Robert E. Shope International Fellowship in Infectious Diseases (Deadline May 22, 2013)

Antibacterial Resistance Leadership Group Fellowship
The ARLG Fellowship provides a unique opportunity for hands-on experience and formal clinical research training. During this two-year tenure, the ARLG Fellow will participate in all operational components of the ARLG Network.

    Fulbright-Fogarty Fellows and Scholars in Public Health
    Fogarty has partnered with the Fulbright Program to promote the expansion of research in public health and clinical research in resource-limited settings for both medical or graduate student fellows and postdoctoral scholars.

    HIVMA Minority Clinical Fellowships
    The primary objective of the HIV Medicine Association Minority Clinical Fellowship Award is to enable under-represented minority post-residency physicians to gain HIV clinical experience and expertise in an HIV clinical setting.

    Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society Fellowship
    The Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society offers several Fellowship awards (Training Awards) annually.

    Fulbright Programs for US Scholars  
    Fulbright programs offer U.S. faculty, administrators and professionals grants to lecture, conduct research in a wide variety of academic and professional fields, or to participate in seminars.

    Fulbright Programs for Non-US Scholars 
    Programs support research and teaching of visiting scholars to the U.S.

    US Department of Veterans Affairs Career Development Program
    Provides mentoring for junior researchers, clinicians and non-clinicians, so they can learn from renowned, experienced VA researchers. Awards are provided in biomedical laboratory, clinical science, health services, and rehabilitation research.

    ISID aims to enhance research, prevention, and treatment of infectious diseases, particularly in low resource countries.  Several fellowships and small grants for early investigators (younger than 40) are available.
