Does 340B Make a Difference in Your HIV or ID Program?

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services' recent reduction of 340B reimbursement for Medicare Part B drugs to some participating hospitals, as well as Congressional bills under consideration that would freeze new participation and impose new requirements, could impact services provided to uninsured and underinsured patients at these facilities

IDSA and HIVMA are developing an educational resource brief on the impacts of the program to ensure that policymakers understand the implications changes to the 340B Drug Discount Program may have on access to treatment for HIV and other infectious diseases in their communities. Examples from your clinic or institutions will help. Please email HIVMA Executive Director Andrea Weddle to share ways that 340B helps your HIV or ID program provide HIV, viral hepatitis and other infectious disease prevention and treatment services to patients with limited care options.
