IDSA Response to CDC’S Spring 2024 COVID Vaccine Recommendation

Infectious diseases experts strongly encourage an additional COVID-19 vaccine in spring 2024 for people 65 years of age and older as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The Infectious Diseases Society of America urges people at high risk for severe COVID-19 complications to discuss with their clinician or health care provider whether a COVID vaccine in spring 2024 is appropriate. It is particularly important for those living with severely compromised immune systems to remain up to date with vaccinations.
