IDSA and HIVMA statement on confirmation of Dr. Erica Schwartz as CDC director

The Infectious Diseases Society of America and HIV Medicine Association congratulate Erica Schwartz, MD, JD, MPH, on her confirmation as the new director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. She brings an extensive background in public health service, and we look forward to working with her to strengthen our nation’s public health infrastructure and address critical infectious diseases threats — including antimicrobial resistance, seasonal respiratory viruses, HIV and emerging pathogens.
