Juan David Patino-Mateus, MD, is a research assistant on Dr. Carlos Saldana’s team in the Department of Infectious Diseases at the Emory University School of Medicine. Trained as a physician in Colombia, his work centers on health equity and improving access to culturally appropriate HIV prevention and care services for Hispanic/Latino populations through research, community engagement and implementation-focused approaches.
