Judy Guzman-Cottrill, DO, FIDSA, is a professor of pediatrics in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Oregon Health & Science University, joining the faculty in 2004. Her areas of expertise include health care epidemiology, infection prevention and pediatric HIV.
Dr. Guzman-Cottrill served on SHEA’s Board of Trustees from 2019-2020 and was the curriculum director of the IDSA/SHEA/PIDS LEAP Fellowship program, which trained early-career ID physicians how to collaborate with public health partners in infection prevention & antibiotic stewardship.
From 2019-2023, Dr. Guzman-Cottrill was appointed to the CDC Healthcare Infection Control Practices Advisory Committee, or HICPAC. She was a member of HICPAC’s Isolation Precautions workgroup and chaired the Pediatric NHSN Definitions workgroup until HICPAC was abruptly terminated on March 31, 2025. Currently, Dr. Guzman-Cottrill is a member of the IDSA Practice and Quality committee, and a board member of Cascade AIDS Project.
