A new brand for a new era in infectious diseases

For more than 60 years, the Infectious Diseases Society of America has brought together people whose work changes and saves lives  —  those who diagnose, treat, prevent and help us better understand infectious diseases. Our members have long served as trusted voices in science and medicine, and as the challenges facing our field continue to grow more complex, so must the way we communicate who we are and what we stand for.

That’s why we’re proud to introduce a new brand for IDSA. This is more than a new look. It’s a renewed expression of our purpose and a clear signal of where we’re headed as a community.

Our new brand is grounded in a revised mission, vision and promise — shaped by member input and informed by the world we’re navigating together. It speaks to the compassion, curiosity and knowledge that define our field, and to our shared commitment to advancing science, promoting health equity and working globally to address the burden of infectious diseases.

It’s also supported by a refreshed strategic plan that focuses on three critical areas: strengthening the ID workforce, expanding leadership in outbreak and pandemic preparedness, and ensuring IDSA is recognized as a trusted, evidence-based resource for decision-makers, providers and the public.

In short, this brand reflects who we are — and who we need to be — at a time when our field has never been more essential.

It also reflects something deeper: the humanity at the heart of our members and our specialty. Our members care for patients facing uncertainty and fear. They support families, educate communities and dedicate themselves to preventing illness before it begins. These are not just clinical contributions — they are acts of service, of science and of care. In a time when trust in public health and science has been deeply challenged, this matters more than ever.

Our new brand helps tell that story. It helps people outside our field understand the value of what infectious diseases professionals do — not only when a crisis hits, but every day in clinics, hospitals, labs and communities around the world.

This rebrand is the result of thoughtful work by many — including our Board of Directors and members — and it reflects the ongoing collaboration we’re proud to share with association and industry partners who are committed to the same goals. Our refreshed brand will also help strengthen these partnerships, allowing us to align more effectively with the broader association and medical community and speak with a more unified voice as we tackle shared challenges.

Thank you for helping us shape a brand that reflects the strength, compassion and impact of this extraordinary community. We’re excited to move forward with you.
