Chris Busky, CAE, is the chief executive officer of IDSA and the IDSA Foundation. Based in Arlington, Virginia, IDSA is a global community of 13,000-plus physicians, scientists and public health experts who work together to solve humanity’s most complex challenges, from the tiniest microbes to global outbreaks. Rooted in science, committed to social justice and driven by curiosity, IDSA's compassionate and dedicated members safeguard the health of individuals, our communities and the world by advancing the treatment and prevention of infectious diseases. Within IDSA, the HIV Medicine Association is a community of health care professionals who advance a comprehensive and humane response to the HIV pandemic, informed by science and social justice.
Prior to joining IDSA, Busky spent 10 years as the executive vice president and chief operating officer for the Heart Rhythm Society, an international medical society that represents health care professionals who specialize in the prevention and treatment of heart rhythm disorders. He has more than 30 years of nonprofit management experience. Busky received his undergraduate degree from Frostburg State University and his master’s degree from the University of Maryland.
