Melvin Sanicas, MD, MSc, MScID, MBA, is a physician-scientist with over 18 years of international experience in immunology, infectious diseases and vaccines. He has held leadership roles in academia, industry and global health organizations, with a focus on the prevention and control of emerging infectious diseases. A passionate science communicator, he is a TED-Ed educator whose lessons on infectious diseases have reached more than 15 million viewers worldwide and have been translated into multiple languages. He trained in medicine, vaccinology, clinical research and public policy at the University of the Philippines, Università di Siena, the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, and Harvard Kennedy School. He is a fellow of the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, the Royal Society for Public Health and the Royal Society of Arts.
