Miriam Barshak, MD, FIDSA, is an associate professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School, distinguished physician in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Massachusetts General Hospital, and director of Infectious Diseases at Massachusetts Eye and Ear. She has a longstanding interest in streptococcal infections, dating back to her work focusing on basic streptococcal pathogenesis as a medical resident, infectious diseases fellow, and early-career physician scientist.
