Suman Radhakrishna, MD, FIDSA, FACP, is a practicing infectious diseases physician in Los Angeles, California, who is board certified in both internal medicine and infectious diseases and credentialed as an HIV specialist by the American Academy of HIV Medicine. As president of the Southern California Infectious Disease Medical Group, a three-physician infectious diseases specialty group, Dr. Radhakrishna cares for patients with infectious diseases as a consultant at local community and tertiary care hospitals in downtown and East Los Angeles. She has expertise in managing patients with general infectious diseases issues, prosthetic joint infections, NTM infections, immunosuppression-associated infections and travel-related illnesses. She is also the director of infection prevention and oversees infection-related issues in both acute care hospitals and long-term care facilities, in addition to chairing antimicrobial stewardship programs that monitor antimicrobial use and help prevent the emergence of resistant organisms.
Dr. Radhakrishna is a clinical assistant professor of medicine at the University of Southern California, a professor of medicine at Midwestern School of Medicine and a professor of medicine at Ross University School of Medicine. She is currently serving as president of the Infectious Disease Association of California, a state society affiliated with IDSA.
