Infectious Diseases Research Careers Meeting

ID Research Careers Meeting Suspended

The Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) and the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) are suspending the 9th Annual Infectious Diseases Research Careers Meeting, designed to help foster the next generation of infectious diseases physician scientists. The meeting was originally scheduled to take placed June 25-27 in Bethesda, Md. Pending applications from fellows, residents, and medical students will be saved for consideration in 2021.

The Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) and the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) co-sponsor an exciting program designed to help foster the next generation of infectious diseases physician scientists. The two-day meeting is designed for ID fellows and medical students. Lodging and travel costs are provided for meeting participants.

Participants will have the opportunity to hear from leading ID physician scientists about frontiers in medical research. There will be presentations and discussions on the practical aspects of developing a successful career in research – e.g., funding, mentoring and publishing. Attendees will have the opportunity to present their own research in a poster session and visit the campus of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). In addition, our outstanding faculty will be available for both formal and informal interaction over the course of the meeting.

Each accredited infectious diseases program is invited to send fellows, residents, and/or medical students who has not previously attended this meeting.  Attendees must be IDSA members to register and participate and attendance will be limited to 110.
